Kalanjiam Samuga Vanoli’s main purpose is to create awareness on disaster preparedness and coping-up mechanism among the coastal communities that it serves. Set up in October 2006 by DHAN Foundation in the aftermath of 2004 Tsunami that hit the coasts of Tamil Nadu, the CR station facilitates community interaction and documents the development interventions that take place along the coast of Nagapattinam. Thematic Focus: Though main focus of the station is on agriculture and farmers, programmes regarding women, skill empowerment, health, education, children, fishermen, culture and folk are also broadcast.
