The concept of the community radio station was visualized by non-governmental organisations Myrada and Voices. Namma Dhwani CR began narrowcasting in 2008. This community radio station was initially supported by UNESCO, and MP LAD Fund of Kasthuri Rangan. Later on, the station began generating its own resources through a community centric approach. Covering 152 villages, its operating from Budikote. Thematic Focus: The station focuses on health related issues as well as agriculture including integrated farming, sustainable organic farming, crop-disease management, mixed cropping pattern, organic versus inorganic cropping, etc. Different schemes introduced by departments are also covered. Besides, there is focus on self-help groups, socio-economic development and income generation activities, financial mobilization, etc.
