About this Directory
The Community Media Directory has been set up as part of the South Asian Network for Community Media (SANCOM) in relation to its extension and outreach activity. This directory is meant to be a resource for activists, enthusiasts, academics, researchers, and, generally, all those interested in community media within the South Asian region.
Once completed, the directory will contain profiles, including contact information, of the community radio, participatory video, community television, and community newspaper initiatives in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, The Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Note: the directory is continuously being updated as more information becomes available.
Please send any modifications about your initiative’s profile, information about missing initiatives, or suggestions you might have to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This directory has been compiled and curated for SANCOM by Taijrani Rampersaud – a doctoral student at the University of Hyderabad and a research assistant with the UNESCO Chair on Community Media, University of Hyderabad, India. Inputs were garnered from Prof. Vinod Pavarala, Chairholder, & Prof. Kanchan K. Malik and Prof. Vasuki Belavadi, Faculty Fellows with the Chair.
